Explore Some More
Explore Some More is a chance for students to do hands on activities and experiments with a variety of materials. This is the chance to try new things and take control of their learning. If they discover something on their own, it will mean more and make a lasting memory. Explore Some More happens 4 days a week and is sure to be one your child's favourite parts of Kindergarten!

Lakewood's Mini Marathon - Thursday, June 19th, 2014
Today we had our first ever marathon at Lakewood School.
It was an amazing experience and we
can't wait to do it again next year!
Click on the link below to watch a short video of our event!
When We Went To KidFest
We went on the bus to KidFest at the Forks.
When we first got there we saw so many people and some tents.
We got to pet a REAL snake!! The snake felt a little bit bumpy, a little smooth and a little bit slippery.
Next, we went to see Fred Penner and we had lunch under the tent.
Our favourite song was "Sandwiches Are Beautiful"
After the Fred Penner show, we went into the police car, got a police badge sticker and had our picture taken with the police dog mascot. We also got our face painted, we played instruments, we made bridges with cups and straws and we made wooden airplanes.
Next we saw a magician who made a stuffy racoon look like it was real. He also made a rope go through his own body! After the magic show, we went to the play structure.
We had fun trying on the costumes!
At the end, we saw a man singing with a kitchen sink tuba!
We had a BUNCH of fun at KidFest!!!!!!!!! :)

Friday's Trip!
|
Just
a reminder that on Friday, June 6th , we will be going
to The Children’s Festival at
the Forks. We will be going come
rain or shine, so please be sure your child is dressed appropriately (layers that can be taken off if it is warm,
comfortable shoes). Please apply
sunblock and bug spray before they come to school. We will reapply a quick spray in the
afternoon, so please let us know of any allergies or sensitivities.
They
MUST have a hat.
Also,
because we will be carrying our lunches, please send packaging that can be
disposed of rather than containers that need to be kept. This will make moving around a little
easier.
If
you are a parent volunteering, please bring a backpack that you can carry your
group’s lunches in and any important items.
We
can’t wait to tell you all about it!!
