Important Information

1. We have had some questions about our home reading program and we would like to clarify how it works.  Home reading is changed every Monday (or Tuesday if there is no school on Monday).  Students are responsible for everything.  They bring in their books and change them themselves.  Every Monday, we ask all students to bring the home reading bags into the classroom. We do not check backpacks.  Also, we recommend to students that they try and choose different books every time, but ultimately it is their choice.  The levelled books are colour coded and each student knows the colour they choose from.  If you are finding that the books are either too easy or too hard, please send us an email or a note in the communication folder.

Important Information

1.    We have been working very hard one-on-one with students to complete our assessments for Term 2 Report Cards.  Report cards will be handed out on Wednesday, March 12^th, just in time for conferences in the evening on March 13^th and in the morning on March 14^th.  We will send home more information when it is closer to the date.

Valentine's and 100 Day Party!

I APOLOGIZE FOR THE LATE POST!

With Your Child This Week

1.     Practice printing upper and lower case Rr and brainstorm words that begin with Rr

2.     Talk about the primary colours that mix together to make orange, purple and green

3.     Have your child talk about the activity they did on the iPads

4.     Make a pattern with objects from around the house (cutlery, socks, toys, etc.)

What We Did This Week At School

* Did tactile R with red roses

* Painted finger paint patterns with the secondary colours

* Learned about the number 10

* Made letters with the wikki stix

* Made 10 frame fun mix

* Worked on “I like” writing about our favourite secondary colour

* Made “Goop” and had a cup blowing challenge for Explore Some More

Important Information

1.    Wednesday, February 5^th is our annual Read-In Breakfast!  We invite all families to wear their pjs and join us in the library from 8am-9am to read stories together.  We will have homemade muffins, juice, coffee and tea for breakfast.  Come for as much time as you can!!!!  If you are unable to join us, your child can be dropped off at the usual time of 8:15 and they will read with us in the library.  We hope to see you all there!!!!

2.    Our Kindergarten Information Night is fast approaching!!  We have been taking videos of some children to include in our presentation.  If you would NOT like your child in one of these videos, please let us know by Tuesday, February 4^th.  Thanks!

3.    Our Valentine’s and 100 Day party is on Friday, February 14^th from 8:45am to 11:25am.  If you are able to volunteer for the morning, please sign the bottom of this form.
