Important
Information
1.
Student-led conferences are a
celebration of your child’s hard work.
They will be showing you various skills they have learned and sharing
their growth book with you. Conferences are to celebrate the positive,
not discuss serious questions and concerns. We would be happy to discuss any
issues at a separate appointment. Should
you need a parent/teacher meeting, please let us know so we can make
arrangements at another time.
2.
Your child may have mentioned
Israel. He is a 4 year old boy with a
seizure disorder and muscle weakness.
Our school is collecting pennies to purchase him a special bike to help
him get around and play with his friends as he is unable to walk on his
own. We will be collecting pennies from
now until December 15th.
*Please
note that between the school and parent council, you will come across many
fundraisers. You are not obligated or
expected to participate in all, or any if they do not suit your family. Please participate only when you are truly
interested in what is being offered and feel able to do so.
3.
Now that you’ve had a chance to read
the report card, here are the guidelines one more time.
-we are only allowed to comment on the
specific outcomes for each term. If it
says that you child is able to recognize more than…. It means that is the
expected outcome, not necessarily that you child is only able to recognize that
many. When you come to conferences, you
will get a better idea of what you child knows when they share their growth
book.
- the following phrases mean that your
child has not yet mastered an outcome-is learning to, is beginning to, is
working towards, is starting, etc. If
you see these phrases, these are the areas you child will need to work on in
the coming terms.
